Reset the aging clock…
As we age, our skin loses Hyaluronic acid, which naturally stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, two proteins that contribute to the skin’s fullness and elasticity. However, using a dermal filler like Juvederm is a safe and effective way to replace the HA that is lost, bringing back its volume where your face needs it the most. The goal is to restore a natural, rested look. Most filler treatments can be done in minutes in the office with very little downtime. In fact, most of the newer filler agents available today can provide a great youthful look by the coming weekend.
As an advanced injector and very experienced physician, Dr. Khalaf customizes each procedure to meet the exact needs of the patient. Different fillers that we offer are used for different areas of the face, some are injected deeper, some are more superficial, using a highly experienced injector is critical to get the best, natural looking results. Dr. Khalaf will discuss all of your options to help you choose what is best suited to provide you with the natural look you desire.
Q: What is JUVEDERM?
Juvederm is a non-surgical, smooth consistency gel filler that helps to instantly restore your skin’s volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds like your deeper “smile lines”. Juvederm adds volume to facial tissue and restores a smoother younger appearance to the face. It is also used for lip enhancement.
Q: How is JUVEDERM injected?
Usually Juvederm is injected into areas of facial tissue using a fine needle. However, at Quick Stop, many times we tend to use the microcannula technique where the filler is injected with a blunt tip. This works amazing for deeper injections like cheek augmentation. The blunt microcannula works great to protect the blood vessels from getting punctured and thus bruising is minimized. Juvederm is used for facial volume and to diminish the appearance of wrinkles, scars, nasolabial folds, persistent “11” lines between eye brows in addition to many other indications. It is best to use fillers in combination with other treatments, such as Botox and chemical peels. The combination works effectively to establish a more radiant youthful transformation without invasive surgery.
Q: When will I start to see results?
Results are visible immediately after treatment. Our injector will work with you on an individual basis to achieve the most desirable, natural looking results. The full results are gauged after about 10 days.
Q: How long will the results last?
Juvederm is the ONLY Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler FDA approved to last up to one year. In many case, it can last up to 18 months.
Q: What are the possible side effects of JUVEDERM?
Most side effects are mild and not long lasting. The most common side effects include temporary injections site reactions such as redness, swelling, bruising, and asymmetry. As with any other injectable, the risk of side effects is greatly influenced by the skill of the injector.
Q: What should be done prior to treatment?
Patients are advised to avoid taking aspirin or ibuprofen both of which can increase bleeding or bruising.
Q: What should I do immediately after treatment?
Patients are advised to refrain from vigorous exercise for the next 24 hours, and avoid extended sun exposure. Other than that you can return to your normal activities.
